About James ProvisionsWe're a seasonal 80-seat restaurant in the DFW area, known for our airy, light-filled space and open kitchen. Our team is passionate about creating modern, seasonal cuisine using well-sourced, thoughtful ingredients from farms, farmers' markets, and ranchers.We're seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and personable Sous Chef to join our team. This role involves running the kitchen two days a week, managing inventory, ordering, menu execution, and overseeing BOH production. Ideal candidates have a minimum of three years of experience in similar roles, attention to detail, solid communication skills, a hands-on approach, and a love of hospitality.Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the management team to achieve culinary excellence
• Manage the BOH team two days a week, ensuring seamless kitchen operations
• Focus on food quality and presentation standards, maintaining a high level of excellence
• Manage culinary operations, including ordering, inventory, and purchasing
• SOURCE the best available seasonal products to enhance our menu offerings
• Maintain a healthy environment by following sanitation standards and procedures

  • Warm, passionate, professional, motivated, and committed to the industry
  • Calm, cool, and collaborative under pressure, with effective leadership and communication skills
  • Previous scratch kitchen and butchering experience a plus
  • 2 years of management experience in a full-service kitchen
  • Food & Safety certifications
  • Thrives in a high-energy, team-based environment with adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Strong & varied knowledge of special diets and ability to modify dishes as needed
