About the TeamVIZIO's Technology - Software and Services team is seeking a Senior OS Development Engineer to join their growing team. A successful candidate will contribute domain expertise and make high-impact individual contributions related to memory usage and performance optimization. This position will not have direct reports and is an Individual contributor. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in our Dallas, TX office.What You Will Do

• Make software engineering contributions that pull from experience developing C++ applications in a Linux environment.
• Contribute to software architecture design and documentation for individual components as well as larger systems.
• Design solutions that meet memory and performance requirements of a low power ARM SOC.
• By 3 months you will be able to triage bugs and implement feature details by cooperating with other teams to gather information and expected behaviors.
• By 6 months you will understand our UI engine architecture in detail and what improvements need to be made for a better user experience.
• By 1 year you will be a feature owner that drives development of new engine features to support exciting new app offerings.About You
  • A completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • You care for attention to detail and a polished user experience that will delight users.
  • You are a great written and verbal communicator: you're able to effectively communicate abstract ideas, bridge gaps in understanding between teams, and communicate to create a shared vision.
  • You are quick to understand the history and strengths of existing systems; slow to introduce "yet-another-solution."
  • 2+ years Consumer Electronics engineering experience preferred.
  • Proficient in software architecture design.
  • Candidate should have 5+ years of experience with C++ development.
  • Proficient in developing and optimizing for memory constrained systems.
  • Knowledgeable with utilizing GPUs in embedded environments is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with the Chromium project a plus.
